SCALDBECK COTTAGE CAMPSITE
“It’s a thoroughly informal affair and perhaps one of the best campsites anywhere in the whole of Norfolk, let alone the north Norfolk coast.”
Coolcamping – Coast, Punk Publishing Ltd., 2018
A quiet place where you can get away from the noise and rush of city life.
Situated on the west edge of Morston Marsh, two minutes from Morston Quay on the North Norfolk Coastal Path.
Ideal for walkers and bird watchers; bring a boat or kayak and launch it on the tide, go gillie-crab fishing, sunbathe on sandy beaches or mud-slide into the creek.
“Are all the best campsites born from happy accidents? When Ned and Roberta Hamond held their daughter’s wedding in the garden of their cottage it was such a success that a campsite was born. It’s very simple, very unpretentious and you can see why that wedding willed it into existence. As well as getting the camping right the site is in a perfect location for the Norfolk Coast Path with the Morston Marshes just a few minutes stroll away.”

SAFE CAMPING 2022
We will continue using a second field to spread everyone out. Cars may be parked next to pitches.
We ask campers to bring their own cold chests and buy ice from the local shop.
We have found that keeping individual shower times as short as possible allows the shower room to be aired out, ensuring that no steam/vapour remains for the next occupant.
We also clean the toilet/shower room several times daily.
We also request that all campers use the disinfectant wipes provided to wipe down shower buttons, toilet handles, taps and internal and external door handles as they leave. We provide a bin outside the shower room to dispose of the wipes. So each party leaves the room clean for the next occupant.
We ask that the door is left open on its hook at all times when not in use.
